"Our story started in 2010, raising a blended family of 11 children in the beautiful state of Oregon. After years of love, laughter, and countless memories, our youngest child left the nest. With an empty nest and a desire for new adventures, we decided to embark on a journey across the country. Steven's remote work and my travel nursing career provided us with the flexibility to sell our home and belongings, purchase a fifth-wheel, and hit the open road. After two and a half years of exploring the western United States, we finally found a place to call home in the heartland of Oklahoma.

We had no idea what God had in store for us, but we were ready to embrace the unexpected. A few church members suggested we get a couple of Longhorns to roam our acreage. Steven, always eager for a new adventure, started making calls to local ranchers. The first rancher he spoke to asked, 'Do you want yard art or a herd?' Before I could even process the question, Steven replied, 'A herd.' It was a spontaneous decision, but one that we now believe was a divine intervention. With Steven’s business acumen and ability to see outside the box, we both believed that this was the business that we were going to build. Little did we know, our lives were about to take a wild and woolly turn.

Society often encourages us to follow a traditional path: work for a company, save for retirement, and then pursue our dreams in our later years. However, God's Word calls us to a different path: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”Romans 12:2 Moving to Oklahoma helped us escape the distractions of the world and reconnect with God. After much prayer and concern about the state of our retirement savings, we made a bold decision. We cashed out our retirement funds and invested them into our new dream: The 6 Paw Ranch. After all, we are not promised tomorrow, we only have today.

So, welcome to The 6 Paw Ranch! We've been blessed with the opportunity to build a herd of beautiful Longhorns, thanks to the guidance of many supportive people in the Longhorn community. Our goal is to raise healthy, gentle animals with exceptional genetics, offering Registered Texas Longhorns, stunning horns, beautiful hides, and delicious beef. Twice a year, we open our ranch to friends and family, inviting them to join us in the timeless tradition of working cattle. It's a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and experience the peace and tranquility of ranch life. God has been faithful in His guidance on the Ranch and we want to share all the things that He is doing out here. Follow along!

Steven says, “Praise God, pass the ammunition, and eat beef!"
