Cobblestone Farm was purchased in 1997 to preserve the prominent wetlands and forest of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. It began with a search for a breed that was old world, pure and undisturbed by the centuries of mass production and after researching several different cattle breeds, that search came to an end with the discovery of the Highland cattle. Their herd base, which started in 1999, was built for quality breeding stock that has the ability to produce an excellent carcass and that herd still lives at Cobblestone today and are still producing excellent calves that excel in the ring.
