    The TLCA's Longhorn World Championship Sale ​was held ​on Friday, October 20th in ​​Oklahoma City, OK. Over 70 head of Registered Texas Longhorns were consigned and auctioned off to a crowd of breeders in the Cox Convention Center in downtown OKC. The data below was gathered by Hired Hand. We share these trends and averages for our customers and breeders in the Longhorn Industry who could better their programs by analyzing it as it best suites them such as this data: These are averages for Sires with at least 2 offspring selling.   • Weekend Recap: 2017 Longhorn World Championship

    From October 20th - 21st Hired Hands' Molly Clubb and ​Jaymie Feldmann attended the Texas Longhorn Cattle Association's Longhorn World Championship. This event included a sale, measurement competition and futurity. The "LWC" ended with the All-Industry Banquet and Awards Presentation, all held in the Cox Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Hired Hand had a booth for the 3 day event.

    CWM Ceffyl Ranch is located in Colorado's Bijou Basin on the banks of West Bijou Creek near Kiowa. Chuck and Kadie Hughes established Cwm Ceffyl Ranch. "Cwm Ceffyl" is means "Horse Valley" in the Welsh language. Cwm Ceffyl Ranch LLC is home to Registered Texas Longhorn Cattle, Border Collies, & Quarter horses.

    The TLBAA's Horn Showcase Bred & Owned Heifer Sale and Saturday Sale were held October 6 & 7, 2017 in ​Lawton, OK.   • Bevo: The Most Famous Texas Longhorn Steer

    Football season is upon us and we are bringing you some #FunFacts about the University of Texas mascot Bevo. Last fall the University of Texas debuted Bevo XV, the 15th of his name. Bevo XV is a Texas Longhorn Steer and ​Hired Hand proudly serves over 300 Longhorn breeders across the nation. We provide them with websites for their Registered Longhorn herds. Many of our customers have told us that they bought their first Longhorn because they were UT fans and "just had to have one." Some of these fans now have herds over 300 head!   • Texas Perfection Land & Cattle Co.

    Texas Perfection Land and Longhorn Cattle Company, got its start in 1977 when the Durkin family moved to the little town of Blue, Texas, with seven head of longhorns given to them by a family member. Today, they're located in Jamestown, KY and run a herd of almost 150 head!

    27 lots sold on Hired Hand Live for a total of $41,400 for an average of $1533 There were 15 on-line buyers of 27 lots. 22.7% of all bids came from Hired Hand Live 30% of winning bids and 19.5% of total sale value came from Hired Hand Live 75.6% of items were up-bid by Hired Hand Live Lot 47 had the most internet views going into the sale at 257 unique views. She sold for $8,500 which was the 2nd high selling lot. She sold to a live bidder, not the internet. The high selling internet lot was Lot 17 for $3,000 to Mr. Harold Claver

    Please find below some additional Hudson Valentine Sale results courtesy of your friends at Hired Hand*: 52 of 55 lots were sold for a total of $654,500. The Shown & Sold Average was $7,610.47. Cow Sale Average: $8,804. 12 Cash Cows sold for a total of $278,000 and an average of $23,166.67. One of the Cash Cows sold on-line for $33,000. Lot 29 topped the Cow Sale at $86,000.
