Thank you to the Hudson/Valentine Sale and the Southeastern Winchester Futurity for their hospitality, outstanding event, super successful sale and for inviting us to set up a booth.
Hired Hand's Molly Clubb and Jaymie Feldmann arrived in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Thursday to get set up and do some sight seeing. Thursday evening marked the arrival of most Futurity participants and sale attendees and the weekend was kicked off with a nicely catered BBQ dinner. Friday morning started off with a bustle of activity for Hired Hand as customers stopped by the booth for technical support, questions about Facebook markeitng, social media, Longhorn advertising programs and more. Friday was also the Futurity which showed off many, many outstanding animals brought in from all over the country. Friday night marked another great meal and the Heifer Sale portion of the weekend. Hudson Longhorns sale consignment, HL Cow Patty was sold to G&G Longhorns for $62,000 which is a new world record for a Longhorn heifer sold at auction. Cow Patty was later partnered with G&G Longhorns, Bentwood Ranch & Allen Ranch - all Hired Hand customers. Congratulations to these 3 ranches on an outstanding purchase and to all of our customers who bought and sold great cattle over the weekend. Saturday morning there were lots of breeders admiring the beautiful consignments to sell later that day and soaking up the beautiful Kentucky sunshine. Mike Willinger, Hudson Longhorns ranch manager, said that it was the nicest weather Kentucky had seen in some time which was great for sale attendees. Another great meal was served for lunch Saturday and the sale started at 1PM which had some very exciting moments with numerous cattle selling from $20-45,000.
The weekend boasted 112 lots selling, only 2 PO's, $976,000 gross revenue and an $8,714 average - quite impressive.
And just as important, all of the attendees and participants seemed to have a lot of fun and a good time.
