Just a note to say how pleased I am with the Hired Hand web site creation. It is beyond anything I ever imagined. The pictures of the animals in the pedigree is a great improvement to anything I have ever seen. I could not be more pleased.

  This program is so cool and easy. Once you’ve imported your current herd into the system you’ll have so much free time on your hands because updating your web site will only take minutes!! I may actually start having time to enjoy my cattle again instead of always being on the computer.

One of the best features is that everyone in the system’s animals are all in one data base so the pedigrees can practically build themselves and many of them have pictures to go along with a name! How cool is that!?!! 

I also believe this "networking" is a great means of advertising! Sorry for all the " ! " but I'm so very, very excited about this new form of "Longhorn Breeder/Community Networking."

We are fortunate enough to run our website, www.gandgtexaslonghorns.com, through the Hired Hands software and MoCo. Being of the “computer” generation, I’ve spent plenty of hours browsing and comparing all kinds of websites. It seems the only people who truly understand how to design and update a personal site are computer programmers. There are plenty of IT people out there however; most of us in the Texas Longhorn industry do not exist in this segment. This obviously makes it harder for us to harness this technology for the marketing and advertising of our herds.

There are a few things that stood out.

1. Training and Support: The ease of use is amazing. After an hour of training from Molly and her company I was up and flying with our website. They take out all the guess work; the manager pages are so easy to understand. And after more time spent adjusting and customizing my own pages I finally had a site that was personalized for me and G&G Longhorns. Once it was set up the website was easy to manage. I could update pages daily with up coming events, cattle, sales all in a matter of minutes instead of hours like other sites I’ve dealt with in the past. The support Hired Hands has in great as well. Any questions I had were answered in a timely and understanding matter regardless how simple the question 
2. We only have so much time and money. Traveling around from ranch and ranch is not very feasible in many situations. The access to a ranch’s personal site makes anyone’s herd available to everyone world wide at any hour of the day. 
3. Another plus is the pedigree bank that Hired Hand is building up daily. When you upload an animal and fill out the pedigree portion the new owner has to upload the parents portion too with a registration number. This feature is comforting because it adds that much more truth to your animals. That comfort adds value!

Hired Hands software and the website craze that they are creating is going to be the standard in the Longhorn business shortly!
